What should I consider before buying?

Choose LP10 for CW laser measurement from 0.01 µW to 40.39 mW at wavelengths from 400–1100 nm; its direct reading is at 633 nm. Choose LX20 for illuminance from 0.1 lx to 403.9 klx. Both have dockable stick sensors and 4039-count displays with 41-segment bar graphs.
